Peaceful Parenting and Children Exercising Independent Reason

I was so proud of my 5 year old daughter last night correctly pointing out the moral hypocrisy of some of the "house rules" which are imposed through coercion that don't apply to the parents.

We are now in process of reconsidering these rules in light of these hypocrisies.

Part of the process of me healing my inner-child is getting the chance to make "right" the wrongs that were done to me by my own parents. For most, being challenged by their children would result in a physical / emotional beating, as often was the case for me growing up. As I've gone through an objective awakening questioning many of the established norms imposed by society, I take great pleasure knowing I've done my job well when my child feels empowered and respected enough to call Kendra and I out on our own moral bullshit without fear of violent / emotional retribution.

She's going to need that discerning mind to wade through the moral hypocrisy in the rest of the world that is only going to get worse.

Peaceful Parenting and Objective Reality

http://schoolsucksproject.com/podcast-382-kids-dont-need-or-want-your-praise-with-kevin-geary/

I wasn't aware that my Christmas post about my gift-giving policy was going to touch so many nerves. This podcast discusses "peaceful parenting" and helps expand on some of the concepts I discussed to raise independent, rational, and internally-motivated children.

Adults today who have difficulty operating in objective reality are significantly influenced by their own Authoritarian parents and public education system that valued external motivating factors rather than internal. How one views the function of the State is often a reflection of how one views the roles of the parents.

Politics and parenting. Can I possibly cause any further cognitive dissonance? How about this: add legalistic religiosity to the mix and you create an adult paralyzed to effectively function in the real world.

GRAPHIC PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT: NOROVIRUS

I am refusing to allow NoroVirus barf-fest become an annual event. We are recovering from a 6/8 infection rate. Last time we had it, it was 4/5, with me being the winner. We were extremely fortunate it wasn't coming out both ends at the same time.

The memory of three kids in the living room while parents / grand parents are on barf-duty, will not be forgotten.

HYPOTHESIS:
Probiotics helped create a gut environment that can fight off the effects of the norovirus. The probiotics inhabit the same areas the norovirus attempts to infiltrate.

I've been taking probiotics through the first time, and this time around. Though I felt sick, I didn't need to puke. Kendra has recently been taking probiotics, and she didn't get it this time around. I think the newborn may had avoided it or had symptoms not so severe for reasons unknown.

I felt myself being close to feeling to puke, but never got over the edge. I sensed the acidic feeling in my tummy, but it was never so severe I needed to purge. I credit that to my low-carb diet and the probiotics I've been taking to keep the pH in my digestive track at tolerable levels.

TRANSMISSION:
Aerosolization in diarrhea when flushed and vomit. Only about 5 - 20 particles are needed to transmit.

Next time someone exhibits any of the symptoms, I'm sending them off to quarantine. There is no other way.

SHOW NO MERCY! NEVER AGAIN!

Lying to Your Own Children

I remember as a child I would fake believe in Santa Claus in order to receive two sets of presents. I also knew where to look and found where my parents hid the presents. The typical times I received gifts as a child was my birthday and Christmas. My gift giving policy is different with my kids.

I give my children little gifts throughout the year and make it clear it's because I love them and like to see them excited (thanks slickdeals.net and craigslist). I gave my children the option of having their Christmas gift right away from me, or to wait until today. They decided earlier, so I obliged.

If you were given the option, would you want the gift right away or to wait?

I don't like "traditions" when the utility value no longer serves its original purposes. I don't like lying to my kids about nonexistent entities. I don't like to withhold gifts and impose an arbitrary time restriction without clear utility. I don't like controlling and manipulating my childrens' emotions originating from a selfish desire focused on my own gratification.

If Christmas is ultimately about Love, then perhaps we should reconsider the traditions which hinder that goal. Some people prefer to wait because they enjoy the surprise. Some people don't see the value in waiting.

Do you know what your child prefers and how they will remember your actions as adults?

Puerto Rico Gun Laws 2nd Amendment Ruling Appealed

UPDATE 11/7/16: Supreme Court in Puerto Rico upheld the appeal. Existing laws remain in place.

http://www.wipr.pr/tribunal-supremo-reitera-constitucionalidad-de-la-ley-de-armas/

UPDATE 3/26/2016: It went before the appeals court and was overturned!

You may recall back in June 2015, that Puerto Rico was having its gun restrictions challenged: https://www.saf.org/saf-lauds-puerto-rico-court-victory-for-gun-rights/

I don't speak Spanish, so I have no idea what's going on exactly, except I'm guessing the news from June was appealed and without a preliminary injunction, the laws seem to remain unchanged. At least when it comes to the gun stores, I gather they are selling guns still under the old rules. If you want to verify, you can contact a gun store directly in Puerto Rico.

Yeah, I know it's sad that I'm having to sleuth around like this, but I couldn't find any decent Google results outside of the June articles!

Here are some news articles I found by checking out Facebook links for a Puerto Rican gun store you can use Google Translate to get some updates:

Much to plow in changes to the Firearms Act

With the court decision takes steps to countless questions about how will be the next steps and what citizens should do to complete the process of carrying arms

By Paola Guzman Arroyo spokesman - 4:04 a.m.

Editor's Note: Part of the special report "Latent changes in Arms Act", which covers the details related to the controversial law. Expected tomorrow the second part, where a smuggler reveals details of how guns move in the underworld

The determination of the Court to declare unconstitutional five articles of the Firearms Act, which govern the process to possess and carry firearms, are precisely not final or firm.

On the judge's decision, the chairman of the Judiciary Committee, Security and Veterans of the Senate, Miguel Pereira said in an interview to the spokesman that the decision still does not give way to changes in the law.

"I think the judge exceeds his function declaring unconstitutional articles I am a judge of First Instance. We must understand what the true role of firearms, "said the president.

Pereira confessed he has no controversy with the Court's assessment, but said that we must contemplate the consequences of having a gun and "if we in the name of security of our family will carry an element so incredibly dangerous."

The order issued by the judge Lugo Anibal Irizarry determines that replacing the administrative process, all arms buyer follow the weapons registration process enacted in federal law through the Transaction Log Firearms carried out by the Bureau Alcohol, Snuff, Firearms and Explosives (ATF, for its acronym in English).

For his part, Secretary of the Department of Justice Cesar Miranda said that among the risks of declaring unconstitutional articles is the elimination of the minimum age of 21 to possess weapons and announced that requested a review of court last week.

Miranda said the judge proposed that the inquiry procedure that prevents addicts, habitual drunk, people with violent records and individuals with restraining orders against them, would be ineffective.

"It should be clear that the determination of the judge is final and binding, has no immediate effect and remains in force Law 404 of 2000 (Law on Firearms). Therefore, it is still a crime gun sales and possession and carrying duty without a license as required by law, "Miranda said in a written statement.

Rekindled the determination of the court, the coming changes will challenge the need to submit certification of criminal records and that can be achieved through the portal of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) "National Crime Investigations Center".

At the same time, there will have to be presented as other certificates of debt not the Treasury Department or the Child Support Administration (ASSUME) and as to the number of vouchers required for licensing.

The legal battle is wedged into thinking that carrying a gun is a fundamental right protected by the Second Amendment to the US Constitution and should not be heavily regulated.

For the owner of the armory AAA Gun Shop & Club, Victor Gonzalez, unsafe scene after the court's determination only means that he will continue to fight for the determination of the judge Salinas prevail, as it understands that keep and bear arms is a fundamental right.

"Expectations are very high because the Department of Justice nor answered the demand at the time, but took into consideration. You ask for an appeal is when you ask the appeal and we will ask the Supreme certifying that they go and if we are going to nickname for the Supreme, "said Gonzalez.

Gonzalez claimed that the only beneficiaries of the high cost of the process of taking related to weapons that would prevail challenged the decision of the judicial forum permits are government pledge and not necessarily the person you want to ensure their own safety.

The duration of approval of the application may exceed five months. Puerto Rico Police issued 17,833 licenses for firearms possession in 2014.

Likewise, the spokesman for the organization of the Ladies of the Second Amendment, Sandra Barreras said the prevalence of amendments "represent equity."

"We have our right to enjoy it as our brothers in the nation, we seek equal rights implementation" Barreras said in a written statement.

About people who say it's dangerous, the vice president said that "just as dangerous are cars, are present only on the strength of a third inanimate objects. More dangerous are the criminals that haunt us to take our lives. "

"The state I ask you to stop lying to the people. I do not know if the federal system do not know or who lie to people with any purpose to maintain a taboo against the law, "said Barreras.

"The federal system ATF is used in Puerto Rico since 1968, the same used by the police to verify the records of people and the same that use the armories to see if you can sell a gun to the person requesting" said the spokesman.

The association made a documentary to explain the amendments made by the court. See it here .

I couldn't find any updates except on a Puerto Rican gun store's page in Spanish, which if translated states:
Appeal of ELS (Class Action)

As expected the court today filed an appeal to the court's decision declaring the law unconstitutional weapons. Then the document .

Who Should Certify Competence?

https://www.lewrockwell.com/2015/12/gary-north/didnt-get-hired/

"When I go looking for someone to run some aspect of one of my businesses, I never ask him about his academic attainments. I want to know his performance on the job."

Except in environments run by dillusional beuracracy out of touch with reality, results are the prime proof of competence. I was never formally educated to run real estate and hotels (ie. College degree). It has not stopped me from destroying my competition and running an efficient operation.

I shake my head inside when I meet students studying to receive a degree in Hospitality Management. They're better off saving their money and working in the industry gaining real world experience with a driving ambition toward management. No smart business person would give a management position to a fresh graduate without any real world experience. How brainwashed have students become to believe their college degree somehow guarantees them a job?

Yet in the military world, a fresh officer out of the Academy, "pulling rank" as a fresh "butter bar" has more lehal authority than a seasoned 20 year veteran. Ignorant 21 year olds somehow out rank 80% of the veterans in the force and have the legal authority to condemn the lives of their subordinates in their inexperience simply because of a "commission."

This, along with numerous other nonsensical "traditions," permeate our armed forces and government beuracracies. Due to State monopolies, these archaic and inefficient practices remain in existence with no real pressure for change. If there was real competition, these government functions would be forced to discard wasteful practices or become extinct. In the mean time, mediocrity reigns supreme in the world of government beuracracy and individuals that are the "best and brightest" get frustrated and stifled out of government work into the private sector where efficiency is valued.

Take Comfort, Libertarians & Future Technology

https://www.lewrockwell.com/2015/12/george-f-smith/take-comfort-libertarians/
Automated cars, VR revolution, neural implants, etc. As new techs emerge empowering individuals to self organize through voluntary means (AKA Private Governance), centralized planning through violent means (AKA Public Government) will become more oppressive, inefficient, and draconian as it attempts to maintain control. In the marketplace of ideas and leveraged with the multiplying power of technology, it is inevitable that Private Governance will reign supreme.

Even today, why expend resources getting a CS degree when you can self learn via the Internet? You can start developing apps right now without a formal education. Greater evidence is in your work portfolio than some degree. Heck, you could develop apps that can start making money now and possibly skip the rat race.

Even for Chloe, I'm fairly confident that in 10 years time, the formal, centrally controlled education system will become irrelevant as we're already seeing today when it comes to finding jobs in the workforce today. The lie that somehow having a college degree means you are ENTITLED to a "livable wage" job has been proven false.

The "gig" economy will become the new normal.

In the real world of voluntary exchanges, individuals who relentlessly invest in their own human capital will gain success (whether through increasingly inefficient, "official" education channels or through self-help), while those who rest on the Established Order to provide an undeserved handout will remain beggars. There will be a constant battle to remain relevant as disruptive technologies become more commonplace. Degrees will become even more worthless.

Will Social Security, Medicare, and all the typical "social safety nets" (which are simply Ponzi schemes placed on the backs of the producers), exist with its same benefits 30 years from now when I come of age to "cash in" my benefits? Certainly, they won't exist by the time my kids come of age. To go even more Futurist, should tech exist where our bodies become augmented to extend life indefinitely, this will bankrupt Governments even sooner.

50 years from now, it will become clear that the greatest fraud imposed on individual productivity and liberty is that Public Government is the superior option to Private Governance. Or if tech isn't ultimately hampered by Government regulation, this fraud will become realized even sooner.

WHEN not IF There Will Be Tyranny

http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/now-oppose-assault-weapons-ban-doubts-stopping-lone/story?id=35778846

On the plus side, if Trump does get elected as President, then maybe Liberals will finally realize that they need assault weapons to protect themselves from Trump!

Assault weapons in the hands of the populace are not just a control against Obama/Hillary tyranny, but against all tyranny. Republican or Democrat, Christian or Muslim, Atheist or Theist; our government system no longer defends individual rights. Even in the hands of pure Democracy, it is essentially mob rule.

It is foolish to surrender entirely to politicians who are ultimately beholden to "special interests" and the "greater good" rather than supporting your individual right to life, liberty, and personal property.

The history of humankind shows a 100% failure rate for all governments. Man is corruptible, therefore any system made up of Man is corruptible. In the face of these facts, why would the US Government somehow be an exception?

25 years, 50 years, 100 years, 200 years? It's not a question of "IF," but a question of "WHEN?" Will you and your loved ones be ready WHEN the time comes? Or have you fallen prey to the propaganda that the STATE is your benevolent protector?

Co-Sleeping with Your Children

I've found some of my most emotionally bonding moments being able to sleep in the same bed with my children. There's something deeply, emotionally satisfying seeing them safe and within arms reach. Hearing them sleep peacefully and perhaps getting used to their body odor.

I get the sense that the Western tradition of separating kids from parents beds to short circuit one of our most primal, human connectedness potentials.

But then again, not getting kicked in the face has its advantages too.

Dan Carlin - Common Sense on Action and Politics

But in a system where the will of the people is supposed to be translated via the representatives, how many representatives are going to get up and answer the question, "What will you do to keep me safe?" with an answer saying, "The only possible chance of doing that without destroying everything is to NOT try to keep you safe."

The Enlightenment of Dead, White Guys

https://youtu.be/OeE_s1Gw7X4

Until relatively recently, I never really got into the fetishism of dead, white guys (AKA our Founding Fathers and the Constitution). I also discredited Thomas Jefferson (for which is alleged he had children with a slave). As I've come to understand the battle between State vs. Federal Enumerated Powers, I've come to a better understanding that Alexander Hamilton's legacy for Authoritarianism echoes into today's politics.

There exists a seemingly eternal struggle between individual liberty and Statist tyranny.

Amendment IX: Samuel Adams, The Rights of the Colonists

In short it is the greatest absurdity to suppose it in the power of one or any number of men at the entering into society, to renounce their essential natural rights, or the means of preserving those rights when the great end of civil government from the very nature of its institution is for the support, protection and defence of those very rights: the principal of which as is before observed, are life liberty and property. If men through fear, fraud or mistake, should in terms renounce and give up any essential natural right, the eternal law of reason and the great end of society, would absolutely vacate such renunciation; the right to freedom being the gift of God Almighty, it is not in the power of Man to alienate this gift, and voluntarily become a slave--

Christian Jihadists

https://www.lewrockwell.com/2015/12/laurence-m-vance/christian-jihadists/

I was once a Christian Jihadi mainly because I didn't know any better. Perhaps that's one reason why it's so difficult for me to go back to churches filled with people who believe in this hypocrisy.

The Death of Reason: Why People Don't Listen to Reason and Evidence

https://youtu.be/a6PoILa4BDg

Interesting physical, psychological, and even genetic discussion on why people don't listen to reason and evidence.

It seems to be the case that if someone already has an inability or unwillingness to practice Reason, there is no hope for them. To even attempt to show the individual that they are unreasoned would require reasoned means (by which it has already been determined they're incapable of). Essentially an impossible situation.

Don't Glorify Government Violence

https://www.lewrockwell.com/2015/12/jack-perry/dont-glorify-government-violence/

A causal link between State violence and mass shootings? I'm skeptical how strong of a link. Might as well say Global Warming is the cause of Terrorism. Interesting perspective nonetheless.

It is interesting to observe the blindness by which people defend the morality of State violence not on Principled grounds but on Pragmatic grounds. For them, the ends justify the means. To me, they're just thugs, or intellectually lazy (intentional?).

There's also psychological barriers to remaining blind to Statists' own immorality, for which I'm still reflecting on. How does one use rational means to break down another's self-imposed delusion due to cognitive dissonance? I'm coming to the realization that you don't waste your time.

I'm the delusional one to expect people to act and believe rationally (or at least honestly). Why do I get frustrated when people act irrationally? Why do I continue and believe it's worth the effort to engage? Perhaps it's because the alternative of sitting and doing nothing as the Statists run rampant and commit immoral acts is intolerable.

What is it inside of me that sees injustice and is compelled to act, to never surrender?

Is the cause of Liberty and Freedom something I'm willing to go all the way and die for?

From a purely material point of view, I'm having a net loss. Despite this, I'm still compelled to speak for the moral imperative. This is a similar conviction I had in college as a Christian that some would say is the conviction of the Holy Spirit, but I did a lot of dumb ass things that I regret.

In this case, my reasoning and emotional conviction are in line. I'm not sure how much in line they were for me in college. Will I later look with regret at my current zealousness with Individualism, liberty, and personal property the same way I look back with regret at my time in college?

What To Be Thankful For

https://www.lewrockwell.com/2015/11/andrew-p-napolitano/thankful/

So many unanswered questions and moral hypocrisy.

Thanks to the Internet, the Truth of government corruption is being revealed and an awakening is occurring across the world against the tyranny of government.

Just as Jesus railed against the religious hypocrisy of Pharisees and Martin Luther against the Catholic Church, can we not see the moral hypocrisy of our own Government overlords?

Today, I'm thankful that the government can never take away our inalienable right for life, liberty, and personal property. As free creatures made in God's image and likeness, we are free to reject man-made government.

War With Russia to Defend ISIS?

https://www.lewrockwell.com/2015/11/jack-perry/war-russia-defend-isis/

So, I'm scratching my head wondering why in the hell Turkey would shoot down a Russian jet. Turkey's reasons make no sense (Granted Russia flying so close to the border is dumb within itself). So two possibilities arise:

1) The Turkish attack was a result of only Turkish incompetence.
2) The Turkish attack is being motivated by ulterior motives not being openly discussed.

For #1, I can't imagine anyone is this short-sighted. There's dumb, and then there's DUMB. If you don't know how DUMB the Turkey attack was, check out: https://twitter.com/wikileaks and other sources explaining how nonsensical the Turkish account is.

For #2, crap. Did Turkey get the "green light" from someone in Washington, D.C.? That's the next plausible explanation. If they are half-way competent in Turkey, there's no way in hell they would shoot down a Russian jet unless they KNEW they had bigger guns backing them, which defaults to the US.

I wasn't awake enough for the shit-show of the case for Operation Iraqi Freedom, but I'd imagine I'd be getting deja vu of machinations playing before our very eyes for Syria.

What kind of crazy games are our politician overlords playing? Is Assad such a great threat that it's worth defending ISIS from Russia?

It's times like this that I'm glad ‪#‎WikiLeaks‬ is around. Someone needs to leak the cable or communication where Turkey got the "green light" to shoot down the Russian jet from the US.

[Heck, maybe US and Russia are in cohoots on this together and this is the "World Shadow Government's" attempt to consolidate power into the hands of the few. OK, I'll admit I've been listening to too much ‪#‎AlexJones‬. I'm not convinced there exists enough evidence to support a World Shadow Government.

Maybe life is all just a VR simulation.]

Promoting Democracy by Initiating Violence

http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2015-11-22/cold-reality-post-paris-world-freedom-promotion-agenda-has-failed

You see, America loves democracy so damn much, that the US is fully prepared to impose it upon recalcitrant countries by force. Sure, that may seem oxymoronic, but it’s really just well meaning paternalism. After all, what better way to endear the local population to an occupying force and sow the seeds for the establishment of democratic institutions than to come in shooting after you’ve leveled a couple of cities with cruise missiles and airstrikes?

Moral Absolutes and Ad Hominem Attacks

When you look at reality from a view that there exists moral absolutes (Moral Absolutism) and that one can come to a better understanding of what those moral absolutes are based on rational discourse, you quickly realize you're in the small minority of people who actually believe that.

In fact, the mere act of searching for Truth through questioning various positions is met with Ad Hominem attacks from those who believe that all truths are just as valid as any other truth claims (Moral Relativism).

And there are those who are Moral Absolutists, but disconnect it from the intellect: "And honestly, I'm not particularly interested in engaging in a drawn-out intellectual debate on the subject because to me this isn't an issue of intellect, it's of basic humanity, compassion, and empathy."

The disconnect of intellect with Moral Absolutes means that the only means one can come to an understanding of these Moral Absolutes is to simply take it entirely by "faith" or "emotion." Which morality ultimately "wins" rests entirely by appealing to the changing sands of emotional & cultural predispositions.

Considering the condition of today's politics and thinking patterns of the world throughout history to the present, it is I who am irrational to have the expectation that most of my colleagues use rational means, rather than emotion, to ultimately address these moral principles.

Would you rather be right, and be alone? Or would you rather live contrary to your Principles, and be embraced by the World?

I've already made that choice long ago.

Public Indoctrination

https://youtu.be/cf4uEsceFhM

For Public Education, I see its primary function as a means to teach technical skills and abilities for which will be directly translated into the productive work force. Public Education should not be used to indoctrinate or act as surrogate parents teaching morality or producing a "sheepish" mentality to "respect State authority." Teaching "social skills" are also something I don't believe should be the function of the State, as "social skills" is ultimately a very subjective matter as our SJW-brethren accurately point out.

From this perspective stems the understanding that Public Schools are filled with tremendous layers of waste and fluff. Also, it can be understood that there are much more cost effective means to obtain these goals through Internet resources.

The less time my kids can spend in the Public Indoctrination system, the better. Hopefully they will be intellectually curious enough on their own accord that they will desire to skip the endless amounts of BS in middle school / high school for which I support.

I suppose then, that my biggest responsibility is to counter the influence of State indoctrination, and encourage my children to challenge the "Establishment" and question everything and anyone. Especially me.

Paris Attacks Are Just Part of the Game for Global "Leaders"

If a drone destroyed your child’s school or a mall where your loved ones were shopping (or even a hospital) would you not feel a sense of overwhelming rage and a desire to “get back” at whoever sent that drone? I am not suggesting such actions motivated by revenge are justified, but rather simply pointing out that this desire for revenge is a natural, primal human response. So given this knowledge, why do we keep throwing rocks at the hornet’s nest if we know the hornets will without fail sting us?

The Source of Social Justice Warrior's Lack of Critical Thinking

If you think about the implications of the distorted views of the current "Social Justice Movement" at college campuses, it does lead you to wonder where these students learned this behavior. The Public School system comes to my mind immediately. From 1997 - 2001, in Shorewood High School, I never learned this kind of authoritarian style of Justice, and I was part of some clubs on campuses that were Progressive in nature.

Are High Schools now fundamentally different? The terms "trigger warning" and "micro-regressions" have really only sprung up in the last two years. Have they been brewing under the surface at High Schools previous to this as "learned behavior?"

I hope that in the next 7 years, by the time Chloe goes into Middle School / High School, that I will have the option to opt out of the Public School System, get my $10,000 back per year, per child, and to educate my children as I see fit (private or home school).

If Education is a "right" (which I would question) then shouldn't one have the "right" to choose which School to put your child in and subsequently be able to self-direct the tax dollars taken away at the point of a gun?

If Universities are supposed to be the bastion / pinnacle of "free thinking" then how much worse is it really in public High Schools?

This is very concerning, but luckily, I have quite a bit of time to sort it out.

Social Justice Warriors & the State of Public Schools

If you think about the implications of the distorted views of the current "Social Justice Movement" at college campuses, it does lead you to wonder where these students learned this behavior. The Public School system comes to my mind immediately. From 1997 - 2001, in Shorewood High School, I never learned this kind of authoritarian style of Justice, and I was part of some clubs on campuses that were Progressive in nature.

Minecraft on Children's Confidence

I wonder to what degree Minecraft has on early development for building confidence for young children.

Chloe was fearful of fighting monsters in a virtual world, but overcame her fear by exploring caves with Daddy. Does that translate in any meaningful way to the real world?

It'll be hard to separate that from the fact that my kids and I enjoy spending time with one another playing a computer game, and that has benefits within itself.

I do plan on becoming a relatively early adopter of VR (perhaps Gen 2), so the implications of VR on social interactions both intra and inter family will be very interesting to observe.

What happens when I start adding in two additional kids into the multiplayer experience? Will their social bonding they develop translate into real-world cooperation?

If sports are any indication, this would seem to be true.

POLITICALLY CORRECTNESS", KOREANS, & THE AD HOMINEM FALLACY

Progressives LOVE to point out how you're being "hostile," "impolite," and "antagonistic," when you disagree with their beliefs using rational statements in an attempt to discredit the substance of your argument. This "character assassination" is a common logical fallacy called the "Ad Hominem" fallacy.

http://rationalwiki.org/wiki/Argumentum_ad_hominem

Sometimes, it's linked to "Willful Ignorance," in that Progressives will espouse "Ad Hominem" attacks to justify why they will ignore other evidence, or use Circular Reasoning (“I cannot agree with that source because it is untrustworthy because it disagrees with me”.)

http://rationalwiki.org/wiki/Willful_ignorance

This is not isolated to just Progressives, and also applies to many "on the right" (ie. Drug War, Foreign Entanglements, etc.).

I see this quite a bit with my own family members as well (for which I will now learn to abstain from discussing matters of substance), and unfortunately, I see this behavior very commonly on Facebook when I attempt to discuss Anti-Statist perspectives.

For me, a rational discussion is the only way by which we can peacefully come to an understanding between two, diametrically opposed views. This is very difficult when the other side continually thwarts productive discussion by throwing in logical fallacies such as, Ad Hominem attacks, Circular Reasoning, and Willful Ignorance.

Let's look at some definitions of words I used above:

HOSTILE - opposed; unfriendly; antagonistic
IMPOLITE - not having or showing good manners; rude
ANTAGONISTIC - showing or feeling active opposition toward someone or something

By definition, merely "disagreeing" with someone on Facebook has automatically labeled you "impolite" or "hostile." In Korean circles (and probably many other Asian cultures), disagreeing with your Elders, even with rationale, is considered sacrilegious. Perhaps this comes from the Confucius roots, but damned be "the Truth." The greater good is "harmony" within the community and not what is actually "True." By disagreeing with an opinion, and voicing that disagreement, therefore is morally abhorrent and discredits any statements you make.

I'll make a video that fleshes out these concepts as I've seen them in real life both in Korean churches, my personal life, and discussions in politics.

Justice for All Minorities?

http://spectator.org/articles/62729/justice-all-minorities

You got to love ‪#‎BlackLivesMatter‬ for disregarding the true victims of inner-city rioting. ‪#‎AsianLivesMatter‬

Stop lumping in Asians for the crimes of the white-man. If you feel it's morally justified, expropriate from the actual "people group" who are responsible for the inequalities of the country, and exempt the Asian Immigrants from your crusade to "balance the scales."

Asians end up getting screwed along with the white-man in the black/white narrative. Can someone show me the ‪#‎AsianPrivilege‬ so I can claim my check?

Progressives Against Minority & Immigrant Owned Restaurants

This article, called "Survey: Half of Food Workers Go to Work Sick Because They Have To", is an example of "good intentions" that ultimately hurt the minority small business owners and consolidate power to the crony-capitalists. Immigrants & minorities just can't catch a break from this constant anti-business attack from Progressives. Combined with $15/hour minimum wage, this constant pounding away at coerced employee benefits will keep increasing the 60% failure rate within the first three years of a restaurant opening.

In 7 of 10 restaurants, entrepreneurs work alongside the rest of their staff. At least in Southern California, there are countless minority owned businesses where the owners themselves have limited English speaking ability. In fact, when I shop at Restaurant Depot for hotel breakfast supplies, the vast majority are minorities shopping for their mom-and-pop restaurants. This hardly fits the typical crony-capitalist corporations Progressives love to target as the "bad guys." I thought Progressives were in support for minority rights?

Progressives care nothing about making it easier for minorities to start their own businesses and exit poverty. Through their zeal to ultimately crush any forms of employer-employee volunteerism, they blindingly shrink opportunities for minorities to be stuck working hourly wages in large corporations that will end up gaining market share. Of all industries, restaurants DEFINE upward mobility for minorities:

♦ Nine in 10: Restaurant managers who started at entry level.
♦ Eight in 10: Restaurant owners who started their industry careers in entry-level positions.

For further discussion on this "fringe benefit" push: http://tomwoods.com/podcast/ep-471-whats-wrong-with-bernie-sanders-demand-for-more-fringe-benefits-for-workers/

WHAT'S THE BIG DEAL?

The main issue of concern is the norovirus.

If you spend an average $2,668 per year at restaurants, your current chance of getting norovirus is roughly 5.27% per year. This statistically comes to one incident every 19 years. So does the frequency match the magnitude to target the rights of minorities for this "public health" concern?

[Horrible Butchering of Stats: $709.2 billion in annual dining sales, 20 million norovirus cases, 70% from food workers. For now, we're not going to question how the CDC got the 20 million figure despite the fact that only 56,000 actually are hospitalized. Someone smarter than me can explain how the estimates are made.]

If this is such a huge "public health" concern that is of ACTUAL concern of customers getting sick left and right, you'd see businesses advertising that they offer "paid sick leave" for their employees in order to obtain a competitive advantage. But since we don't see this, perhaps one could believe that this is not real a concern to most people and this is MANUFACTURED fear in order to support an underlying agenda.

I suspect the frequency is of low enough amount that people consider "food poisoning" an accepted risk as it currently stands. This can hardly be considered an urgent "public health" issue requiring stripping rights away from minorities.

Obviously, it's a very difficult task to link the source of illness and obtain the frequency of which customers are contracting diseases from contagious employees who come into work due to lack of "paid sick leave." But without acknowledging this fact, the author attempts to make the implied link anyway.

EFFECTIVENESS OF LEGISLATION

Let's put aside the real life magnitude of this problem and see if we can figure out a solution. Now the norovirus is a nasty little bugger since it remains contagious not only while symptoms exist, but "also during the first few days after you recover from norovirus illness." So some questions:

QUESTION 1: How many food workers still come into work while having severe diarrhea and vomiting?
QUESTION 2: How many food workers wait more than "a few days after" recovery while still contagious?

"Being sick" as asked in the survey does not answer question #1. I'd imagine that while the symptoms exist it's most contagious? Would it even be possible to hide the symptoms? From my experience with "food illness," I'm not seeing the frequent possibility that an employee could have the energy or motivation to work essentially being glued to the toilet and laying prostate in between bouts of fluid expulsion. Also, it would seem that as a supervisor / employer, if one sees an employee symptomatic (AKA running to the bathroom frequently to both vomit and diarrhea, shivering, and pale skin) would probably send the employee immediately home. Heck, if I was employed and saw a co-worker symptomatic, I would report it to my supervisor. I wouldn't want to get sick either!

So if we deduce that it's not while the symptoms are strongest in which employees are coming to work while infected with norovirus, then it must be by some other means, which relates to question #2.

If norovirus is still contagious for a few days after recovery, it would seem to make sense that this is where the predominant spreading occurs. If an employee correctly determines they were extremely sick, they will go to work as soon as their symptoms become manageable to perform the duties of their job. This is where I believe the norovirus starts spreading, and at which point I'm not sure if even any major sick leave program could be effective.

In the State of California, due to the "Sick Leave Law" penalizing any sort of reprisal, the law essentially acts as mandated "paid time off." As employers, we don't want to risk the liability of demanding a doctor's note and later getting in trouble from the State Agency. So we essentially consider the sick time on the "honor" system which will ultimately turn into "paid time off" in practice.

So in order to cover the 1 to 3 days of the illness getting better, we'll need to tack on about 2 more days to avoid any contagion. So we're essentially needing to mandate at least 5 days per year. We can assume there will be some "fudging" for employees to use "sick" days as "paid time off", and that other kinds of sickness may occur throughout the year. It can be determined that any pre-measured sick time will be used up only for days in which the sickness is symptomatic. In other words, if you set sick time at 5 days per year, then if an employee uses 2 days for another sickness, then even with 3 days off with the norovirus, they still have 2 days of being contagious. This doesn't solve the problem.

At what point is too much "sick"time offered? Perhaps two weeks? But if it ends up being on the "honor" system, essentially we're requiring employers to provide paid vacation time. Certainly, we can expect a certain amount of "padding" of paid sick time if provided enough. And if employees "maximize" the padding for whatever "sickness" they feel, then in the interest of maximizing their "sick time" employees will attempt to come to work as soon as symptoms subside, which, if done in the case of norovirus, will not solve the contagious problem.

So then, we must now mandate that all employees, after being sick with diarrhea and vomiting, must wait at least two days after ending the symptoms to stay in self-quarantine until the contagious period is safely over. But, by what enforcement mechanism can we enforce this? Are the Employers now to become a the Police attempting to discover every symptom of an employee? Will personal medical records now become privy to the eyes of the Employer; privacy be damned? Will the State now punish Employers for allowing their employees to come back to work sooner than two days of which the Employee declares their symptoms to be over? Yet at the same time punishing employers for alleged reprisals of these very same employees restricted from coming back to work while allegedly contagious for which symptoms may or may not be disclosed?

Oh my. Laws, beget laws, beget laws, into continuum. All upon the backs of the minority entrepreneurs that already have a difficult time keeping their businesses profitable in today's already complicated regulatory environment.

Never mind the small magnitude of the norovirus, the non-effectiveness of paid-sick time in actually preventing the spread of the norovirus, or the endless laws burdening the minority business owner in the guise of stopping this "public health" menace; the State works for the betterment of all at the expense of the few!

ON PRINCIPAL

Above was the pragmatic reasons why "paid sick time" to combat norovirus is nonsense. On a principled stance, I see this as being a little more difficult to determine. Certainly, deliberately coughing into someone's face while contagious should be considered initiation of aggression. But what about going to work while contagious?

It would seem that a customer who does get sick of norovirus from eating at a restaurant would have a very difficult time of tracing its origins. And even if traced without reasonable doubt, it seems to be irrational that a customer would then be able to morally justify recompense for lost wages of missed productive time.

I consider the numerous times I received a cold or flu while in school. It would seem inhumane for me to subsequently hold a gun to each sick student and tell them to evacuate the premises, "for my safety." Or even if it were at work, I do not have the right to coerce co-workers to go home. Only the Employer can do so.

The magnitude of the risk, contagious factor, and severity of the contagion in question I believe makes this more of a pragmatic, rather than a principled question.

My Conversion From a Statist to an Anarcho-Capitalist, & My Experience Engaging People on their Moral Principles Online

TLDR; Read this FREE 30 minute booklet and never see the world the same again: https://mises.org/library/anatomy-state

=====

Many of you who follow my posts (and follow other friends' posts I comment on) know that for the past two months or so I've rigorously challenged and defended various non-aggression & Austrian Economics principles through dialectical discourse (also invited individuals to broadcast their views via video chat). In the background, I've spent 100+ hours contemplating all sides of the issue from various materials, including Marxist literature. I started from a Statist point of view, which comes naturally being thoroughly indoctrinated through mainstream media and public school. Even on a Political Science level at University of Washington, the views countering Statism were never taught or mentioned. Talk about biased education!

Then, the failed "War on Terror" and 2008 Financial Crisis, gave us all a jolt of the reality toward the Crony-Capitalist who control our corrupt government. And then, it comes to Ron Paul around 2012, to be the only politician who seems to be saying the truth we've all realized - that Government is the ultimate cause of these problems. And thus began my slow process of gaining a better understanding of what I always thought as "fringe" beliefs of the Libertarian philosophy. Being busy running my hotels, and making babies, I didn't go too deep into the political philosophies.

I've recently received a "wake up" call. Within the past year or so, there's been increase vocal support for $15/hour minimum wage, and essentially the "vilification" of employers as "exploiters." It's not enough to punish the perceived 1%, but to punish all other small business owners in the process. "Certainly, I am not one of THEM!" I exclaim, referring to crony-capitalists that have corrupted our government. Surely all the vitriol hate that is spewing from my friend's Facebook feeds isn't referring to me!?

But, oh wait. Guilty by association to Capitalism as a whole and individual liberty. And thus began my moral indignation toward spurring awareness that small business owners are NOT the enemy. Stop punishing the Asian immigrant Entrepreneurs for the sins of the crony-capitalists. Certainly, if there's a form of "clean" Capitalism (of those who actually earn results of their blood, sweat, & tears), the Asian immigrant must embody it! If not them, then who?

Then, on August 13, 2015, all hell broke loose as I removed the last vestiges of my intellectual ignorance and become willing to explore "anarcho-capitalism." The breadth of knowledge available to explore this previously profane area of "self-determination" and "non-aggression principle" for free has been staggering:

♦ Ron Paul
♦ Reason.com
♦ Tom Woods
♦ Peter Schiff
♦ Penn Jillette
♦ Mises Institute
♦ Murray Rothbard
♦ Judge Napolitano
♦ Jason Stapleton

You can skip all the years of ignorance I did, and just spend 30 minutes or so reading this: https://mises.org/library/anatomy-state

=====

In the process of my active engagement with Statists (and those who support Bernie Sanders), I've discovered that there are some who see Government-initiated violence as a moral VIRTUE. It's not even that they see it as a "necessary evil" to achieve pragmatic ends (for which I have more intellectual understanding toward), but that there is a "social contract" that acts as a moral "blank check" which overrides your ownership to your own body and the labor that extends from your body. Meaning, they see this "social contract" to morally justify their theft of your justly owned personal property and labor at the point of a gun. And if they take their thought to the logical end, this would require a world government, and mandate that you are morally responsible for every other person in the world that has ever existed in the past, present, and future.

I know some could argue I'm making these "straw men" up, but I can assure you (and present numerous conversations), that many believe it is their moral DUTY to take away your Natural Rights at the point of the gun. They have no moral hesitation to put you in prison or murder you if you refuse to fulfill your "social obligation." If they are not personally willing to enforce their theft, they will be the coward and contract the responsibility to some other party so they don't have to personally face their moral conscience (AKA the Government).

Whether you're willing to be aware of it, or not: this is a war of ideas, and the stakes are whether you live as a slave to these Statists, or as a free person to self-organize. The stakes are for your children's future; of whether your children ultimately live for the benefit of whom they voluntarily choose, or as slaves to the State (though to different degrees). The Statists have no hesitation to put you in jail and completely ruin your life for disagreeing with them on this "social contract."

My attempts to engage many of these "Progressives" and Statists can be roughly categorized as intellectually lazy and ignorant. Here are the typical responses:

♦ Personal insults or redirection without actually addressing the issue (ie. "Way to over explain a joke." "You're just greedy.")
♦ Silence

I want to be proven wrong through reason and intellect, but I also value my free time. I also realize that most individuals, in the end of the day, don't operate with their intellect, but by some other means to justify their morality. I still desire to seek discourse to come to a better understanding of different ideologies, but I'm finding myself to have less patience for intellectual laziness, especially when information is so easily accessible through Wikipedia and Google.

(There is no benefit for me to publicly "call-out" these individuals since we are all guilty of these intellectual "sins" to one degree or another. And also, as being a former Statist myself, cognitive dissonance is a bitch. Though a necessary one.)

http://www.cnsnews.com/news/article/terence-p-jeffrey/3248723000000-federal-taxes-set-record-fy-2015-21833-worker-feds-0

What would you do with $44,000 extra dollars EVERY YEAR in your pocket (assuming you're a dual income family)?

Do you think you could've spent it wiser than the government could?

Oh wait, I forgot the answer to combating big government, fraud, waste & abuse is to make the government bigger! It's our "moral duty" to make the government larger, and larger, right?

UNPUBLIC DISCOURSE #13 - Minimum Wage is Immoral, Korean Small Business Owner Minority Perspective

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e1nR_b4st8U

The time, labor, resources, and risk of the Entrepreneur is not considered in the debate on minimum wage. Minimum wage is unethical appropriation (cousin to the term "theft") from the small business owner to the employee.

There's more to the cost of things besides JUST human labor. There is risk, time, reputation, initial capital investments, etc. that need to be considered on what a "fair wage" is.

For the entrepreneur who ends up losing money after two years of business, the hourly workers come out ahead! Who's going to pay for the entrepreneurs' losses? Will the government? What about the hourly workers?

The complexity is so severe in determining a "fair wage", that only two private parties can come to a mutual, voluntary understanding. Someone from the outside cannot realistically consider all factors involved from both sides, except the individuals involved in the transaction.

Right to your own labor as exerts from your body.

Monologue.

UNPUBLIC DICOURSE #12 - Marxism/Progressivism vs Libertarian-Capitalism, Labor/Subjective Theory of Value

https://youtu.be/aKVAohYGDhY

We talk about a whole gamut of issues, and find there is more to agree with than disagree. I was prepared for more of a fundamental interpretation of Marx, so a lot of my notes didn't apply.

There is indeed a class struggle between the Oppressors and Oppressed. Except the Oppressors is the Government bought out by Crony-Capitalists, the oppressed are small business owners and working class.

A class consciousness must be formed to fight against Crony-Capitalism. Is the end of history the elimination of government and allowing the Oppressed to have voluntary transactions among each other?

FUNDAMENTAL INDIVIDUAL RIGHTS

NATURAL RIGHTS - "natural" in the sense of "not artificial, not man-made", as in rights deriving from deontic logic, from human nature, or from the edicts of a god. They are universal; that is, they apply to all people, and do not derive from the laws of any specific society. They exist necessarily, inhere in every individual, and can't be taken away. For example, it has been argued that humans have a natural right to life. These are sometimes called moral rights or inalienable rights.

According to John Locke there are three natural rights:

  • Life: everyone is entitled to live once they are born.[38]

  • Liberty: everyone is entitled to do anything they want to so long as it doesn't conflict with the first right.

  • Estate: everyone is entitled to own all they create or gain through gift or trade so long as it doesn't conflict with the first two rights.

LEGAL RIGHTS - in contrast, are based on a society's customs, laws, statutes or actions by legislatures. An example of a legal right is the right to vote of citizens. Citizenship, itself, is often considered as the basis for having legal rights, and has been defined as the "right to have rights". Legal rights are sometimes called civil rights or statutory rights and are culturally and politically relative since they depend on a specific societal context to have meaning.

NEGATIVE RIGHTS - are permissions not to do things, or entitlements to be left alone. Often the distinction is invoked by libertarians who think of a negative rightas an entitlement to non-interference such as a right against being assaulted.

“That which has legitimate use of force in defense of”

“Is universal for all times and all peoples”

“Beyond the authority of any government or international body to dismiss”

    • Right to Suicide?

  • Justly Acquired Property (Homesteading vs Verbal)

  • Speech?

POSITIVE RIGHTS - are permissions to do things, or entitlements to be done unto. One example of a positive right is the purported "right to welfare."

  • College?

  • Healthcare?

  • Others?

  • Necessary Labor vs. Surplus Labor

  • Exploitation

  • Profit

  • Appropriation - to take to or for oneself; take possession of. (fruits of labor to employer)

  • Is this theory saying that morally speaking the Price should be the same as Absolute Value?

State is now exploiter if no capitalist. Two workers work one hour, one produces 3 units, the other 1 unit. Average is two. Government exploits excess surplus Labor via redistribution, and takes one for its bureaucracy.

  • Should all human labour compensated equally?

  • How would you decide what work is paid, and what is not?

  • My recording vs. other YouTube videos, same Absolute Value? What about my preparation into studying, compiling, and researching this topic?

  • How is risk calculated?

    • Example: Last Tuesday, you expressed interest in cancelling our conversation for today. We scheduled for Saturday 12PM. The next day, an ER doctor friend of mine, who’s free time is understandably scarce, had an opening in his schedule to meet up at the same time for another intellectually stimulating conversation. In addition, I realized the amount of human labor and time I’d need to do in preparation of this discussion was going to be quite significant (of which it’s probably been 20 hours or more). Suddenly, my time became scarce as I can only choose one activity at that particular time slot.

I considered the psychic value in a rare opportunity for me to record a discussion with a Socialist. I considered the psychic value I have in keeping my appointments and not reneging unless absolutely necessary (ie. family emergency).

However, due to the uncertainty of whether or not you would attempt to cancel a second time, caused me to explicitly ask your certainty of committing to the conversation between a scale of 0% - 100%. If I had received a 95% or lower “sureness” of the conversation, then I would had seriously considered cancelling the conversation depending on the degree to which you were below 100%.

To me, the deciding factor on which conversation I valued more greatly hinged on perceived risk and psychic reward, rather than purely “human labour.” Can you describe my narrative in a different fashion to fit the “labour theory of value” if applicable?

  • What about my human labour as manager in hiring the human labour and coordinating their schedules? Do I receive compensation for that?

  • What about the human labour in me coordinating the logistics of bringing all the capital and consumer goods into a hotel guest room (water, electricity, gas, sewage, shower, toilet, towels, linens, furniture, beds, lights, lightbulbs, TVs, breakfast foods, cereal, milk, etc.)?

  • What about advertising efforts, Price management, Bill Payments, accounting, capital investment, attempts to anticipate for future events

  • What about saving money for a time when I’ll be losing money after all expenses or to plan for unexpected expenses?

  • What about potential lawsuits from customers and employees?

  • What about saving money to cover hotel furniture, and other equipment at the hotel?

  • Explain process of rate management for hotel: How does this explain that room rates are much higher during busier times, and cheaper when it’s less busy? Rates are changing almost hourly (because I do it), based off of the pricing of my competitors. Generally, Price and Absolute Value remain the same.

  • Getting 10 iPhone 6s now, or one iPhone 6 every 5 years (ie. technological obsolescence, risk of death, & psychic value of certainty)

  • Depreciation calculations for used items? So pricing structure for Ebay & Craigslist items?

  • Finding Diamond vs. Mining Diamond

  • What about results / productivity?

  • What about natural resources?

  • iPhones? Software? Intellectual?

  • Micro-Transactions in Video Games?

  • Painted Art / Music (Questionable Music Artists)

  • What about all the study, preparation, and training that leads up to the moment of “production?” ie. Sports Stars, MMA Fights, etc.

  • Movie Stars? Production or Theft?

  • Do results matter?

  • What about natural talent?

  • What about the drug addict? What about the worker who doesn’t show up to work on time? What about the worker that yells at customers and co-workers in a hostile fashion?

  • Individuals providing more productive value than they are paid

  • Individuals providing less productive value than they are paid

MORALITY

- Is morality individual or communal? Am I responsible for the sins of a different individual? Do I receive righteousness from another individual?

- Marxism dehumanizes the “Bourgeoisie” removing fundamental human rights, but line between the two classes is fluid.

DIFFERENTIATING BETWEEN PROLETARIAT AND BOURGEOISIE IN TODAY’S COMPLEX ECONOMY

"Clean Capitalism"?

  • At what point did I go from being Proletariat to Bourgeois?

  • Restaurants / Food Trucks

  • Do you have any friends who are Bourgeois?

Can you provide the narrative by which they transitioned from one class to another?

  • How would you describe the Asian immigrant experience of limited English and no possessions, and then amassing wealth during the 1970s & 1980s to present through small business enterprise?

  • What happens if someone tries to start a small business, then fails, and goes back to working for someone else?

  • Uber

  • Airbnb

  • Food Trucks

  • Landscaping company startup example. $100 lawn mower purchased, $50 from each partner. 50% ownership. Both split profits 50/50. They bill customers with payment to be received in 90 days. After a year, one partner wants to do something else, and lawn mower now worth $50. One partner buys off the other partner $25, for his share of lawn mower. Now single owner needs additional person to help. Can’t find anyone willing to put in $25 for the initial capital of the lawnmower and wait to possibly share in profits since payment is so long, but someone is willing to mow lawn for hourly rate if he can get paid immediately upon completion.

  • So if I’m building a hotel from scratch, I will operate the hotel at a loss for a little bit, and there’s a chance the entire enterprise may fail. I may not get retrieval on cash flow for many years. Is it possible that employees trade in their share of the end price for the more certain wages paid by me? And thus, lower risk, shorter timeframe, means less reward? This is contrasted with other “investors” who invest in the initial construction and startup costs, and share in my risk & rewards.

  • What about web programmers who act as freelancers?

  • What about business-to-business enterprises?

Becoming self-employed as a means to stop being Proletariat?

What about wealth building by being a landlord?

Possible to work for someone, and also be a landlord? Possible to be both classes at once?

What if you own stocks or mutual funds?

INDIVIDUAL RIGHTS

- Expropriation - The act of taking of privately owned property by a government to be used for the benefit of the public.

Do you believe in the ability of an individual in American society to say “no” to a job of a certain wage?

Do you believe in an individual’s right to vote?

WORLDWIDE PERSPECTIVE OF MORAL PRINCIPLES

Climate Change Debate Never Over

https://youtu.be/Sl9-tY1oZNw

Ughhh. . . just when I thought I could ease the cognitive dissonance on Catastrophic Mankind Induced Warming, I'm reminded about how politically charged this whole debate has become and it becomes impossible to trust either side.

We get a glimpse of the true bias of the Sierra Club President when he says, "our planet is cooking up and heating and warming." Eminent catastrophe. Eminent doom. And in order to combat this global terror, we need the increase the tyranny of government and individual livelihoods to be hurt. And then he keeps repeating "97 percent" like a mantra as though that's enough reasoning behind his case (which you can research on your own is a highly misleading figure).

Yes, the majority of scientists agree that mankind has influence over the Earth's climate (duh, I don't think anyone's seriously arguing that). Then the next questions:

To what degree are humans responsible and what is a natural Earth cycle?
How severe of warming and in what time frame?
What will the effects be?
How should we respond? (Political question)

You can't jump from "humans have some influence on the environment" to "emergency level government controls" without going through the thought process in the middle (ie. Roy Spencer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Aou-mBhoeuE). This mantra of blindly following the "majority" of experts without considering the original data or bias of those Scientists using your own reasoning is intellectually lazy. Don't worry, we're all prone to it. Grant money is highly politicized by whichever government party is in power, and of course, who can TRULY take the oil companies' studies seriously?

To think that you need to be an "expert" to properly interpret raw data is understandable to a point, except when the raw data is so flawed even the "experts" need to make an "educated guess" on "adjusting" the data (AKA "Computer modeling"). I call it the "margin of error."

The gist of it is that temperature gathering is much harder than it seems. So even the satellite data gets "adjusted" by different scientists. Land temperature gets biased. Sea temperature by buoys are flawed, etc. So, in other words, one huge cluster fuck privy to whichever scientists (with whichever funding source) decides to "interpret" the raw data.

Let's list some items that historically the "government" or the "experts" commonly agreed upon which is now understood to be objectively false:

Only the Catholic Church is qualified to interpret the Bible & Science
Fat is bad, Carbs are good.
Slavery is good!
Some races are superior to others
There were weapons of mass destruction in Iraq by Saddam
The government isn't spying on you!

So basically, when it comes to just about EVERYTHING, you're in a world where you have to critically think about every issue, the biases behind different opinions, review the raw data, review opposing views, and you can't simply rely on "group think" (and ESPECIALLY the government) to help you find the truth. Yeah, it's a bitch, but it's the reality.

Minecraft is Capitalist Propaganda!

CONSUMER GOODS in which you consume to directly fulfill your ENDS are created with the combination of CAPITAL GOODS, TIME, & HUMAN LABOR.

CAPITAL GOODS are originally created by combining LABOR, NATURAL RESOURCES, and TIME.

So therefore, CAPITAL GOODS have no value within themselves except for the fact that they are a MEANS to create CONSUMER GOODS.

CAPITAL GOODS are essentially stored LABOR, NATURAL RESOURCES, and TIME. That means all CONSUMER GOODS are essentially stored LABOR, NATURAL RESOURCES, & TIME.

====

EXAMPLE:
ENDS = WARMTH
CONSUMER GOOD = Fire
CAPITAL GOOD = Chopped Wood
CAPITAL GOOD = Fire Starter
CAPITAL GOOD = Axe
NATURAL RESOURCE = Tree
